IKEA Toronto shopping package from TDBAB
... what a way to spend a day! Come Christmas Shopping at IKEA !
Only Toronto Downtown Bed and Breakfast could bring you this special IKEA Toronto package, because only we love IKEA as much as you!
Your package begins upon arrival at TDBAB, with a Lemon Drop Martini and cheese reception romantically illuminated by dozens of IKEA tealights and candles. Did you realize that the IKEA tealight is the single-largest selling item in the entire world? Billions sold, around the world, and we have certainly purchased our share of them! And those martini glasses? IKEA, of course!
In your room, you'll find the latest issue of the Toronto IKEA catalogue, and - as you plan your shopping adventure - a bowl of their explosively flavourful Raspberry Boats to nibble on.

What's this on your pillow? Could it be ... why yes it is! A One Hundred Dollar IKEA Gift Card, fully loaded and ready for you to work your magic! Now, back to that catalogue, and dreams of BILLY Bookcases and GROGGY Drink Mixing Sets.
In the morning, we're off! No breakfast at TDBAB this morning for us. It's into the Volvo (well, actually it's a Camry, but we can pretend for just a few hours) and off we'll drive to Toronto's newest and largest IKEA for breakfast.
Scrambled eggs, sausage or ham, hashbrowns and a croissant, with a bottomless cup of coffee or cappuccino and a glass of juice await. Enjoy! The store isn't open yet, but the restaurant is full of eager shoppers.
The Etobicoke Toronto IKEA was opened in 2001, the largest in Canada, tenth largest in the world and a whole lot bigger than any IKEA in Sweden, in fact, with 30,300 sq meters (326,146 square feet or roughly four times your average Sears store), and offers some 10,000 articles. The basic thinking behind all products is to use low prices to make well-designed, functional home furnishings available to everyone.
Finish that coffee now. The store is open! Welcome to the IKEA "maze," so legendary that it's been patented as a board game. But do not fear, for your intrepid guide is a veteran of this land and can direct you through it without missing a single 650-square-foot apartment setting, dorm-room-to-be, dream kitchen, patio set or office nook. We'll explore each area completely, or if you are an aficionado or one particular zone, your guide knows the shortcuts to take you there without alien temptation.
Once you've surveyed, and perhaps collected, everything of interest in the furniture areas, the real fun begins on the level below: The Marketplace. A hundred thousand square feet of kitchen whisks and knives, drainboards and frames, pillows and draperies, lamps and door knobs, candles and candles and more candles and then still more.
Finally, our yellow and blue bags slung over every shoulder and bulging with bargains, we make our way to the checkout lines, but not without passing the clearance bins, treasure troves of markdowns and out-of-season delights.
We leave the Volvo (okay, Camry) in the underground parking garage, groaning under the weight of an entire dining room set, knocked down and compressed into one box about the size of your wallet, as we return again into the heart of "our" IKEA (for once you have conquered the maze, you too are entitled to use the possessive pronouns) to the restaurant. IKEA's chefs have been busy preparing for our return, with heaping steam trays of meatballs and potatoes,
lingonberry jam
sauce and gravy, and an exotic beverage of choice - Lunch at IKEA - what could be better?
Love those meatballs? Your guide has, and will share, the secret recipe not only for the meatballs, but also the cream sauce gravy -- but only to participants of the ...
