Dear Jim,

It's Fall in Toronto, and there was never a more beautiful time to visit. We've just celebrated our first anniversary in our new home, and designer Ida Cristello has been called back in to "finish the job" - as well as deck the halls with Christmas trimmings.

Come let us share the season, Toronto, and TDBAB with you!

Your friends,
Rog & Jim

It's the Canadian premiere of Mel Brooks' musical adaptation of his great, classic film comedy!

The Producers tells the tale of the mousy accountant Leo Bloom and the flamboyant Broadway impresario Max Bialystock. They hatch a plot to raise more money than needed to stage the worst musical ever written... and pocket a fortune when it flops.

The Producers is a theatre phenomenon, winning more Tony Awards than any other show in Broadway history! And it's now playing at The Canon Theatre, in Toronto.

Many of you will be familiar with our unrivalled theatre connections, so you will know: if you want the best seats to the best productions, give us 5 days' notice and come stay with us.

Last Call for Disney's The Lion King. It closes January 4. And the Abba musical that has everyone dancing in the aisles, Mamma Mia!, has re-opened for a continuous run.

We have also updated our Dinner & Theatre package with Agatha Christie's The Mousetrap to include dinner in our favourite upscale Yorkdale eatery, Cantine Restaurant. All within an easy walk, to dinner, to the theatre, and home again. Gosh! we love our new neighbourhood! You will, too!

A special thrill for us this year has been the number of weddings held in our home. There simply is nothing more beautiful than participating in the solemnization of perfect love between two persons.

Following our own wedding in June, we've hosted five more and are already looking forward to those already reserved for next spring.

Our goal is to help couples enjoy their special day, without hassles and expense. Ceremonies, conducted either at City Hall or in our home, are followed by an intimate champagne reception for 2 to 50 in our home. Some couples then prefer to take their guests to dinner, or we can cater that, too.

One popular choice for officiant, Roben Goodfellow of All Seasons Weddings, had this to say after the first of three ceremonies she has conducted in our home: "We were all very impressed by Toronto Downtown Bed and Breakfast. Roger and Jim provided a fabulous experience and welcome environment. They are the best bed and breakfast in Toronto, and two of the finest people I've met in my life."

A quick trip over Labour Day Weekend took us to Seattle and then Port Angeles WA, where we discovered a wonderful new bed and breakfast: Port Angeles Bed and Breakfast!

Okay, we confess ... that's Jim's sister Joy's B&B, but it really is nice, with the same oversized fluffy Lands' End towels (monogrammed PABB of course) and RobeWorks spa robes. And she has the magnificent Olympic Peninsula as a setting, with only a short ferry ride to Victoria. Jim & Joy's folks also joined us on our tour of the area, a weekend much to short, but sure to be repeated.

But for now, we're off to Dubai, on the "good side" of the Persian Gulf - the fastest growing tourist destination in the world. We'll tell you all about it in the next newsletter.
