Greetings!
TDBAB is on the move! It's time to say goodbye to TDBAB3 and on
to our new location, TDBAB4!
No pictures to share yet, as we only get possession at the end of
the month, and a couple of days later we head to Victoria for a few
weeks. Meanwhile, we've engaged Ida Cristello, the same incredibly
talented decorator who designed Chicora for us, given her a key, our
credit card, and a mandate to have the new beds made when we return
in August. Look for pictures then of "The Reveal"!
The new location is even more downtown, a couple blocks west of
Yonge Street in the trendy district known as Queen West. It's a
2-bedroom condominium apartment with an incredible view, in a new
luxury building. We decided to get a 2-bedroom unit just so we could
welcome you!
We hope to see you there, soon. Let us know when you're coming
and we'll give you directions!

Yep, that's the way it's gonna be in the next stage of
TDBAB. When we considered how many of our friends are a direct
result of the B&B, we knew we could never give it up
entirely. And so, while we are no longer taking new
reservations from the general public, YOU are always welcome,
and so are your friends and family.
We're planning on living part of the year in our Victoria
BC home, and part in Toronto. We know we'll be flitting back
and forth frequently (we've made four trips to Victoria and
back since we bought that condo last fall!). If you are
planning a trip to TO, please let us know with as much advance
notice as possible and we'll make every effort to coordinate
our trips so we can host your visit.
We have lowered our rates to represent a returning guest
discount, but we're still dedicated to a luxury experience.
The Master Bedroom is yours, with en suite bath and 32"
flatscreen TV, those famous TDBAB bathrobes, terrific view,
secure underground parking (or our professional airport
transfer service) and incredible location right downtown. And
Lemon Drops? Of course!

| TDBAB Alumni Reunion |
 |
|
As treasured alumni of TDBAB, you are always invited to our
Reunions, anywhere in the world. The first was a brunch in New
York City, the second a long weekend in Nottingham
& London, England; and the last one was nine days of
partying across Alberta
and British Columbia, starting with the Rocky Mountaineer
through the incomparable Rockies, and then on to Nanaimo and
Victoria, with some of the most wonderful people you'd ever
meet: our Guests!
Don't miss the next one! We meet in London on May 5, 2008,
for a couple days of shopping tours and acclimatization - and
then head to Southampton where the Crystal Serenity is waiting
for us on May 7. TWELVE luxurious days of cruising await you
then, on the Epicurean Adventures cruise, with stops in
Bordeaux, Bilbao, Lisbon, Gibraltar, Barcelona, Villefranche,
and finally, Rome, for two or three more days, if you wish, in
the Eternal City.
Cost of the cruise is half price, starting at about USD
4500 per person for the full 12 nights. We'll also be blocking
some group rates in London and Rome, if you would like to join
us there, pre- or post- cruise.
Join us for the trip of a lifetime!

57 Chicora Ave |

Five Years of Happiness
We moved in October 2002 from our second location, in
Cabbagetown, to 57 Chicora Avenue in Yorkville: four years and
nine months ago. In that time, we've hosted 1600 guests, some
of them back 10 times, including 46 weddings. Have you any
idea how many Lemon Drops that is?
We picked this wonderful home because we thought it was
"move in ready." Wouldn't need any work at all, we told our
decorator, Ida Cristello. Ida, however, had other ideas. Check
out the changes here: Befores
and Afters at TDBAB
"Our success is fueled by alcohol ... and relentless
hospitality."
Could it be? We've nicknamed our famous Lemon Drop
Martinis "truth serum" - and we've shared a lot of stories,
some of them probably even true! - with a lot of guests in the
last few years. We've helped spread our recipe from coast to
coast, and beyond. We hear there is even a Crystal cruise ship
floating between some distant ports today with "Rog &
Jim's Lemon Drop Martini" on the printed bar menu!
Here's the recipe:
Other Adventures since last we wrote...
As Rog's travel business continues to flourish, thanks
entirely to growing referrals, we have found we are able to
take advantage of even more opportunities to travel. Just
about every month, in fact:
May: We travelled to Montreal
with sister Joy and soon-to-be-neighbour Joan.
June: A quick weekend to Rochester
to visit frequent guests, Brian, Dani and newborn Jeffrey.
July: A visit to Jim's birthplace and new digs for
Jim's parents in Kansas.
August: A cruise to Alaska
and back to BC, where the only souvenir we bought was a
condo in Victoria. There was also a week in Vegas but no
pictures. What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas!
October: Beautiful Lake
Louise, and then to move into our new condo in Victoria.
Next, a cruise from Athens
to Croatia, Venice, Amalfi and Rome.
November: back
to BC.
December: The
Italian Lakes, Cannes, Amsterdam.
January: back
to BC.
February: New
Orleans and then Mexico
City with the twins.
March: Back
to BC for Ursula's visit.
April: TDBAB
Reunion in Alberta and BC
May: Another cruise through Turkey
and the Greek Islands.
Whew! |
