| Greetings!
Summer is finally here! Clearly, the busiest season for
TDBAB, but the most fun, as we get the chance to meet more of you,
making new friends sometimes every day!
This summer marks our seventh season, and over 1300 guests so far
and counting. That's almost 7000 breakfasts served, and we've never
served the same guests the same menu (or even the same china) in the
same visit yet! Come test us! We'd love to see you in Toronto this
summer!

| Canadian Music Hall of Fame |
 |
The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences has
selected Toronto - and the busy intersection of Yonge and
Dundas, across from the Eaton Centre - as the permanent home
of the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.
Organizers are steering clear of a dusty museum of
artifacts in favour of a high-energy facility filled with
interactive exhibits. The project is estimated to cost $40
million and open in 2007. The hall will be part of a 10-storey
building already under construction at the intersection of
Yonge and Dundas streets.
Though this will be the first physical location for the
hall of fame, the academy has been inducting musicians and
industry leaders into a virtual hall since 1978. The list of
57 inductees includes Canadian artists Glenn Gould, Neil
Young, Leonard Cohen, The Band, Joni Mitchell, Hank Snow, Anne
Murray, Oscar Petersen, Bruce Cockburn, Daniel Lanois and Tom
Cochrane, Rush and the Tragically Hip.

of THE LORD OF THE RINGS begins performances at the
Princess of Wales Theatre on February 2, 2006.
TDBAB can get you VIP House Seats for this, the most lavish

February 2 and June 26, 2006.
And just if you missed it the first time through,
don't let that happen again! WICKED is coming back, Oct
7 to Nov 19, 2006 (yep, 2006!). We've already taken
reservations for this - why don't you join us for a really
WICKED weekend in Toronto next fall?
Also dawning, from March 20 - Apr 23, 2006, is
the Age of Aquarian hit, HAIR. A CanStage production,
this iconic 60s musical is part pop, part rock, part
nostalgia, and total visual delight. Recapture your spirit of
hope in a strife-torn world.
But don't wait for next year! We have a whole season line up
from Soulpepper Theatre Company, an artist-founded,
classical repertory theatre company that has something to

| Rog & Jim in Arizona |
 |
In celebration of Jim's parents' 60th Wedding
Anniversary and our Christian and Ian's graduation from
Junior High, we four headed to Arizona for a long weekend in
May, joining the elder Lingerfelts and sister Joy (of Port Angeles Bed and
Breakfast!) and school-days friend Julie.
The trip started with a pilgrimage to Taliesin West, the
winter home of the Frank Lloyd Wright architects (well,
actually, the trip started with a pilgrimage to The Cheesecake
Factory, but that's another story).
Saturday, we met the folks and drove to Williams, the
Gateway to the Grand Canyon, travelling to the Canyon the next
day by luxury parlour car on the Grand Canyon Railway. Monday
was a trip down memory lane as we visited Flagstaff, where Jim
lived eons ago, and a gut- gripping ride with Pink Jeeps over
the boulders that make up the beautiful Red Rocks of Sedona.
Too short a trip, to be sure, but one that proved the
incomparable variety and beauty of Arizona, with a snowball
fight in the San Francisco Peaks in the morning, to the
112-degree desert valley that afternoon. We're already looking
forward to the 65th!
Pictures? Of course! »
