| Dear
Rog and Jim,
Fall already! This summer has passed way too quickly,
with so many new friends and renewed friendships along the way.
Don't let the momentum stop! Book your return to TDBAB today!
Fall is always the best season to visit TO. The crowds are
diminishing, yet the attractions are still running full schedules;
the summer heat is replaced by the crisp air and bright palette of
autumn; and Christmas shopping is such a bargain in Toronto!
See you soon! Rog & Jim
| Smokefree! |
 |
In June, the last bastion of ashtrays was closed by
local bylaw: bars are now smoke-free!
Joining restaurants from a year previous, now all bars must
either be entirely smokefree or offer an enclosed room with
independent ventilation (and even separate glasses and serving
equipment!). Open patios are exempt, so while it's often
necessary to wade through a cloud of smoke to get into a bar
or restaurant, now you can enjoy your meal or drink without
it.
Toronto the Clean - is now living up to its reputation!

| Rog & Jim - around the
world |
 |
Just one quick trip to report on this summer's escape
for Rog and Jim: A week around the world.
We enjoyed a stopover in Venice, an amble through Luxor, a
quick tour through the ruins of Rome, and of course some time
in Paris and New York - all in a week of a Virtuoso Travel
Convention for Rog in Las Vegas.
What a place that is! It's been 15 years or so since either
of us had been there, and we were really not expecting such an
exciting destination.
Jim took a day off from the shops and slots to visit his
folks in Phoenix, and get a Mexican food fix, but for poor
Roger, it was a week of hard grind, meeting representatives of
the world's finest destinations and accommodations, doing
nothing but talking travel from morning till night. It's a
tough job, and he's the right one for it!
Coming Soon ... a week in Shanghai!

| Meet the Vicar |
 |
With over a dozen weddings performed in our home, and
all by the same officiant, we have come to know Roben
Goodfellow not only as a close friend, but also as
rightful holder of the honourary title, "House Vicar."
Roben works with All Seasons Weddings, and performs
ceremonies in private venues. Ceremonies are customized
to reflect the desires of The Couple, and Roben prepares
a bound copy of the readings and text as a lasting
memento of the special day.
A warm and deeply caring and spiritual person, Roben is
ideally skilled in removing the hassle, and building on the
love that shines in each individual marriage.
We count ourselves blessed to share our home with Roben on
these special occassions.

Pearls before SwineTwo major attractions this fall in
Toronto provide an interesting glimpse of the variety that
thrills all our visitors to this city.
Pearls: A Natural
History (September 18, 2004 - January 9, 2005) Royal
Ontario Museum.
This exhibition traces the natural and cultural history of
pearls. A collaboration of the American Museum of Natural
History, New York and the Field Museum, Chicago, Pearls is an
exhibition which perfectly fits the ROM's twin mandates of
nature and culture. Among the tantalizing offerings are pieces
worn by Marie Antoinette, Queen Victoria, Joan Crawford,
Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn.
Royal Agricultural
Winter Fair (Nov.5-14, 2004)
Nothing compares with the multiple layers of sight, sound,
smell and taste that make up The Royal Experience. It's a part
of Canadian tradition. It's the place where entertainment
meets education. Where the thrill of competition meets the
pride of accomplishment. Where the country shows the city a
thing or two. It's the largest indoor combined agricultural,
horticultural, canine and equestrian event in the world. It's
the show that puts November on the calendar, Toronto on the
map, and Canada on the world stage. It's the one and only
Royal Agricultural Winter Fair. It's back for its biggest year
ever.
Yes, Toronto certainly is One of a Kind, and to prove it,
we also have the One
of a Kind Christmas Show and Sale, Canada's largest
craft show and sale, has been an unforgettable shopping
experience for 29 years. This year it features the distinctive
works of more than 750 unique artisans, artists and designers
from across Canada and more than 125 are new to the Show.
Brimming with exceptional gift ideas - art, furniture,
fashions, stunning home décor ideas, toys, food and much, much
more - it is the shopping event of the season. November 25
- December 5, 2004.
