Driving directions (The airport is 18 miles from downtown Toronto)

From the Airport: Highway 427 South to the Gardiner Expressway, East toward downtown. Exit Spadina Avenue (northbound only). Drive 3.3 km (2 mi) north to Bloor Street. Go right on Bloor, 0.5 km (0.3 mi), to Bedford. Left on Bedford .9 km (0.6 mi) to Chicora. We are on the southeast corner of Chicora and Bedford.

Public transit (bus and subway). The airport and the Toronto Transit Authority both claim to have such a service, but we don't know anyone who's actually tested it. It's only $2.25, though, and involves a bus, a subway, another bus, the waits in between, a short walk, and Voila! here you are. About 90 minutes, on average. Instructions here.

Airport Express Bus leaves each Terminal every 20 to 30 minutes. The trip costs $13.75 one way ($C23.65 round trip), per person. Tickets may be purchased from the driver or from the kiosk on the Arrivals Level. The bus stops at the Royal York Hotel. From there, a $10 cab ride will take you to Toronto Bed and Breakfast. A bargain for one person; however total trip, for two, is about $35 plus tip to cabbie (about $2); duration, approximately 1 hour from the airport, plus waiting for scheduled departure (up to 30 minutes). Couples should definitely take a cab or limo.

Cabs are also available from the airport. The fare is metered or flat rate, about $C50. Line up outside the arrivals lounge for cabs. Trip should take about 30 to 45 minutes. Be sure to bring a map and instruct your driver that 57 Chicora is a block northwest of Avenue Road and Davenport. This may prevent several minutes (and $) of circling the area. Payment is by cash, in Canadian currency (visit an ATM or money changer in the airport before you line up for the cab). Please note: If you are taking a cab, please call us from the terminal to let us know you've arrived, so we can be sure to be home for you when you arrive.
