Arrive in Halifax , Nova Scotia. On arrival pick up a car and drive straight to Digby, located on the shores of the Bay of Fundy (approx. 2 ½ hr. drive). Spend the next 3 nights at a local resort, overlooking the Annapolis Basin.
Days Two & Three
Two days to explore this area. Visit Annapolis Royal, a heritage town with over 150 historical buildings. Spend a day whale watching in the Bay of Fundy with the largest tides in the world.
Drive back to Halifax traveling across the province and up the south shore with stops at Lunenburg, home to the clipper ships of yore, and also visit Peggy's Cove, one of the most scenic and photographed coastal sites in Nova Scotia. Spend the next 2 nights in a well-located hotel.
Full day to explore Halifax. Take a fascinating half-day city tour and also visit the cemetery where many of the victims of the Titanic are buried.
Drive this morning to Cape Breton Island (5 ½ hrs), winding your way along the coast until you arrive in this area reminiscent of the Highlands of Scotland. Spend the next 3 nights in one of Cape Breton's beautiful lodges.
Two full days to explore this wonderful area. Hike the many trails throughout the National Park, bicycle along miles of winding and scenic coastal roads, stopping in at little fishing villages for wonderful lobster. Visit the Bras d'Or Lakes, and Baddeck, home of Alexander Graham Bell, the inventor of the telephone. Watch for whales, icebergs or thousands of marine birds. Fish for Atlantic salmon or trout in the areas many rivers. The options are endless.
Drive this morning to Caribou and take a 1 ½ hr ferry ride across to Prince Edward Island. Spend the next 2 nights in Charlottetown in an excellent and centrally located hotel.
Full day to explore Charlottetown, the provincial capital and site of the creation of our Canadian Federation in 1867. Nearby in beautiful P.E.I. National visit the home of Anne of Green Gables or spend the day on endless miles of while sand beach.
